Waste management in Kathmandu valley 1.03

I am continuously giving good time on the study of solid waste management in Kathmandu Valley. In these process I am on the third step of my study i.e. to find out the actual truth and hidden story about the recent practices of solid waste management.

Today dated 2073-02-24, I tried to observe the waste management in Bhaktapur district.
First we (Apil Dhungel and me) went to Radhe radhe in the Nepsymak Private Limited to find out some information.
Then we went to Nepal Fulbari Prasdhusan Niyentran Private Limited at Kausaltar where we had a phone talk only. I will be visiting the office for more data of that office.
All the information will be included in the final report.
But what amazing thing we discovered was, we have the system of segregation i.e. the waste collected from your house doesn't directly goes to Sisdol, Landfill site, they get segregated and some recyclable waste are seperated manually. The only thing we lack is the system and making it possible in huge quantitiy, huge area and with combined effort.

Happy with information collected from Bhaktapur!! And at the end of the day we figured out the basic practice of managing solid waste in Bhaktapur !!
Cheers everyone !!

  1. What is the rate of flow of waste per day and the actual capacity of this system?

    1. Nepsymak Private Limited itself hasn't calulated the exact volume of the waste per day.
But they gave us the rough data of around 3 trucks of waste entering in the plant per day in which 2 trucks will be send to landfill site and 1 truck will be segregated.
For the exact data in terms of weight I will be refering to the 4th year students of my college who has already visited this site!!
