What would happen if earth stopped spinning?

Hi !!
You will know the importance of this question after reading this.
I used to ask this question to my classmates,

"What would happen if earth stopped spinning? "

The answers I used to get:

  1. World will be divided into two parts i.e one will be dark forever while other will be bright.
  2. There won't be any weather changes. etc.

But there will be much more massive things happening if earth stops rotating. You may not believe that whole Asia would be swept away by the flood/waves coming from pacific ocean and whole Africa would be devastated by huge waves generated from Indian Ocean.

There is a simple logic behind it. Earth is moving at an speed of 1100 MPH which is 5 time the maximum speed recorded in formula 1 racing. If the Earth stopped spinning suddenly, the atmosphere would still be in motion with the Earth's original 1100 mile per hour rotation speed. This speed of wind will clean up anything on its way which is not attached with the bedrock of the earth. It means that all the houses, trees, top soil and pretty much everything including you and your mobile will be flying on the atmosphere.
If you think you will not be affected with the speed of wind then wait, there is more than that. Suppose you are on a bus travelling at speed of 40 kmph and if it suddenly stopped, you will be pushed forward by significant distance.
Now take earth as a bus with a speed of 1100 mile per hour (around 1700 kmph) and if it stops suddenly, where will you be ?
A calculation shows that we would be thrown into the wall at speed of 1.5 times the speed of sound had wall been there.
This shows that everything will be swept away and this excessive force might even break the earth apart.
So it can be said that HUGE AND MASSIVE UNIDIRECTIONAL EARTHQUAKE will occur.
Life would end and there will be new start....
But who cares, we live in this earth for 100 years....the probability for such an event is practically zero in the next few billion years !!!!
So, cheers and enjoy your life...
