Short memory on Pokhara Tour !!

Tour Introduction

We, final year students of Khwopa college of Engineering went to Pokhara for the hydropower tour to visit 4 different hydropower projects on 19th-23rd Poush. The four hydropower projects were
i) Marsyandhi Hydropower
ii) Upper and Lower Modi
iii) Seti Hydropower
iv) Fewa Headwork

Bus (4 for 96 students)

Summary

I had thought of going to Pokhara by walking. But I have to say, I couldn't do it. Hope, I will rethink it after some years.

1st DAY

We started our 4 days tour from Khwopa College early morning at 8 A.M. By 12 PM we reached to Marshyandhi Headwork where we had to wait for more than an hour for our entry. We observed all the components of headwork for an hour.
Then we headed towards Pokhara and reached Begnas Lake at 5 PM. It was already dark when we reached there.Though it was dark, we took some photos with flash and took rest for some time. We reached to our Hotel (pre-booked) at 6 PM, ate dinner at 7:30 and took rest for half hour. I requested my friends to go to lake side as it was my first time in Pokhara and I just wanted to see the lake . Our hotel was very near to lake side so we went to lake side, walked for a while , went to cafe and had beer. The song played in cafe, the cool environment and the night, it was just awesome . We returned hotel at 10 PM, played card for some time and slept at 1 AM .

2nd DAY

We gathered at 8 AM outside of the hotel. The program for second day was to visit Modi Hydropower and Kushma Bridge. We reached to Upper Modi hydropower station at 11 PM, waited for a while for our entry and finally observed all the components/working mechanism of hydropower station. Then we went to Lower Modi to observe the components of headwork where the construction works are being carried. It was already 1PM when we left lower Modi. We reached Kushma at 2 PM where we were given some time for Lunch. Then we went to the suspension bridges (there are 3 bridges of similar type in Kushma. We went to two of them ), captured some photos, observed the depth and length of bridge etc. We then returned and reached hotel at 8, ate dinner nearby and played card upto 1:30 AM. On the same night there was game between Spurs and Chelsea. I watched the game upto 80 minutes, was very sad to lose the game by 2-0 and end our winning streaks.

3rd DAY

On the third day we went to Seti Hydropower. We observed both the headwork and power station of Seti Hydropower. We finished the sheduled program by 1 PM then we were left to enjoy the rest of time. We went to boating. Reaching Talbarahi in boat and being a driver of boat was awesome. I had thought of boating in Fewa Lake but hadn't thought of driving the boat. After 2 hours of boating we started cycling. We went to Davids Fall on cycle, captured some photos and returned to hotel. I was very tired because of cycling for an hour. So, I took some rest coming back in room.

4th DAY

On the fourth day, we had planned to go Sarankot for viewing sunrise. Most of us gathered outside of hotel at 4 AM. It took half hour to reach to the top on bus and another half hour to reached to the Sarankot Tower on foot. It was wondeful to observe the sunrise. The reflection of sun rays on the face of Himalays was just awesome. We returned back to hotel, ate lunch and left Pokhara at 11. On the way to Kathmandu, we observed Marsayngdhi Hydropower station. Its the second largest hydropower of Nepal. We arrived Kathmandu at 6 PM. I reached home at 7:30 PM.

So, for me Pokhara tour was an awesome time. As it was my first time going to Pokhara, it was more special to me. Boating in Fewa Lake, Cycling upto David's Fall, Sunrise View from Sarankot and going to Caves, temples etc. were some unforgettable moments. There are photos and videos to recall them which may get deleted but the moments captured in my mind wont.

Thank You !!
